This year’s Eco Precinct, sponsored by Gladstone Regional Council, is an expansion on last year’s stall held by the Discovery Coast Environment Group.
Featuring Marine strandings specimens of a Humpback whale skull, and a green turtle carapace, the precinct is a hands-on learning education area. Listen to talks about migratory marine animals in our area, as well as Marine debris, and how you can reduce your footprint on our pristine environment.
The Boomerang bags girls will be having a ‘boom session’ as well, making Boomerang bags for purchase to reduce your plastic consumption.
Gladstone Regional Environment and conservation team will have an education stall.
Shelta box is a disaster relief support system, promoted by Rotary.
You will also see the Discovery Coast Environment Group “Bin Chickens” walking around keeping our festival green and clean.
