Underwater World

This year’s 1770 Festival invites young explorers to get hands-on and dive deep into the wonders of the ocean with a fun and educational experience brought to life by 1770 Reef.

As part of the free kids’ activities on offer during the festival weekend, 1770 Reef will host a Scavenger Hunt and Sensory Bin experience that will ignite curiosity and inspire learning through play.

The Scavenger Hunt encourages children to search, observe, and explore, learning about our local marine life along the way.

Alongside this, the Sensory Bin provides a tactile, interactive experience where kids can touch, feel, and play with elements inspired by the underwater world. It’s a perfect way for little hands and minds to connect with the reef, while having fun and learning about the beauty and fragility of our marine environment.

Designed to engage children of all ages, this activity is completely free and part of the 1770 Festival’s commitment to offering family-friendly fun that celebrates the natural wonders of our region.

Dates: Festival weekend – Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 May 2025
Cost: FREE

1770 Reef’s workshop is a great opportunity to inspire young minds and spark a love of the ocean, right in the heart of the Discovery Coast.
