The reenactment will be performed on Friday 25 May 2018 at Air Sea Rescue Park 1770.
This annual event is historically accurate as possible and a “must see” event for the “1770 Festival”. Authentic costumes have been handmade in England and cared for in Agnes Water/1770 to ensure they look perfect.
Watch Lt. James Cook, Joseph Banks and David Solander come ashore at 1770 Queensland for the first time after their departure from Botany Bay on 05 May 1770.
You will see their inquisitiveness of this new land and hear their discussions about flora and fauna. The discovery of a Bustard Bird gave them a fine meal that evening.
This one-time performance is subject to both tides and daylight time. Performance time will be advised closer to the date so everyone has an opportunity to enjoy the reenactment. However, please consult this website for exact performance times.
Before and after the performance enjoy entertainment and food and beverage. Living history at the “1770 Festival” for the entire family.
