1770 Festival Street Parade in 2026

A celebration of coastal heritage

The 1770 Festival begins each year with a themed Street Parade departing the 1770 Marina at 9am on Saturday 23 May, making its way along the roadway to finish at the SES Grounds where the weekend festivities begin!

Come and watch local businesses and community groups interpret their version of the 2026 theme “Stories of Salt & Sand”. It will be colourful, creative and curious, with children, horses, dogs and floats. Lots of laughter and some serious interpretations, and one of the wonderful entrants will be named “best in the parade” for 2026.

Each entrant in the Parade will be introduced by our MC as they approach Festival grounds.

The 2025 winner was Gooreng Gooreng who proudly display the perpetual trophy.
