Discovery Coast Tourism & Commerce Inc (DCTC) is the Discovery
Coast non for profit tourism and commerce organisation dedicated to the growth and expansion of the tourism industry and economic development for Agnes Water, Seventeen Seventy, Baffle Creek and the surrounding local areas. DCTC has been successfully operating since 2000.

Our VP is a professional accountant and keen advocate for small business, originally from Sydney. She moved to Agnes Water in 2016 and successfully grew her national practice online with local staff, eventually opening Electra Frost Advisory in 2020 to focus on scaling growth and change management for regional SME’s.

With over 20 years’ experience for entertainment, technology, hospitality industries and more, Electra is now completing an MBA specialising in Tourism Management, through which she enjoys gaining new insights about sustainable and innovative business practices to share with others.

Electra is known ‘off-duty’ by her nickname Alex, loves getting to know new people and is also Treasurer for 1770 Art Show.

Marley Tunstall - Secretary

With a career spanning more than two decades in senior roles within the HR/Recruitment sector, Marley is no stranger to business.

Through her management and consulting roles within numerous Chambers of Commerce in SE Qld, Marley has long held a passion for encouraging collaboration within industries and communities to achieve sustainable growth for business within that region. She believes that it is this experience and understanding of the needs of business, together with strong business ethics and relationships across all sectors, that will assist grow, strengthen and develop DCTC for the benefit of it’s members and the wider community.

Marley relocated to Agnes Water in 2018, and operates Jade Room, a successful local business offering Corporate Stress Management, Holistic and Relationship Counselling, as well as enticing visitors to attend her Women’s and Couple’s Retreats in our stunning slice of paradise. Marley and her team also offer therapeutic massage services in Agnes Water, Gladstone and Bundaberg clinics.

James Spicer - Memberships

James first arrived in Agnes Water in 2009 as an English backpacker working as an island guide with 1770 Undersea Adventures, and has called Agnes Water home several times since. After completing a sponsorship visa in Brisbane, James travelled all over Australia locating and opening travel agency franchises, which later led to a sales and marketing position for a 17 vessel fleet in the Whitsundays. There, James helped develop, contract and present products at both domestic and international trade shows, working with a network of buyers and sellers across the globe.

James most recently introduced and developed the Australia region for tech start-up Cloudbeds, providing customised software solutions for accommodation and touring product.

After 10 years representing several tourism brands and regions, James moved back to Agnes Water in late 2020, and now happily consults tourism businesses from his laptop.

To strive to continually promote and develop Tourism and Economic activities within the region known as the Discovery Coast

The DCTC vision is to benefit the local community and businesses by promoting the beautiful area known as the Discovery Coast.

Tourism is the leading business in Agnes Water and 1770.

By promoting the Discovery Coast as a must-see destination the community and all businesses in the area will prosper through social, environmental and economic development.
