  • We’re excited to welcome award winning artist Ping Carlyon to The Art Space.
    Originally from Taiwan, Ping has been living in Australia for over a decade. She is based in Gladstone.
    She has won the second mayor prize at the 2019 Martin Hanson Awards, the overall 2020 Bundaberg Art Prize and this year’s overall 1770ArtShow prize.

    Her passion is watercolour painting.
    In this workshop you will learn the basics about watercolour painting. Ping will teach you how to sketch a pelican, use watercolour to create the feather texture of the bird and the washing of the background.
