Janina and Simon have operated 1770 Liquid Adventures since 2011 and have lived in the Agnes Water and Town of 1770 area for more than 20 years. Guided tours are kept small, with a maximum of 12 paddlers, and explore the sheltered waterways, coastline and wildlife of Round Hill Creek and Bustard Bay.
No previous kayaking experience is required for the guided tours. Kayaks, paddling equipment and safety gear are supplied, and guests receive free photos from their tour.
Sunset Tour
The Sunset Kayak Tour is a fully guided 2.5-hour kayak experience in the Town of 1770 for adults and children aged 12 and over.
Paddle along the 1770 coastline, past the area associated with Captain Cook’s historic landing, explore the headland and stop at a secluded beach or sandbar before watching the sun set over the water from your kayak.
The Town of 1770 is one of the few places on Queensland’s east coast where the sun sets over the ocean, making this a particularly special way to experience the famous 1770 sunset.
The Sunset Kayak Tour costs $70 per person and includes complimentary snacks and drinks. Departure times vary throughout the year according to sunset, tides and conditions.
Wildlife including dolphins, turtles and marine birds may be encountered, although sightings are never guaranteed.

Family Tour
The Family Kayak Tour is a 2-hour guided morning tour designed especially for families with children aged 4 to 12.
The tour takes place on Round Hill Creek, where children paddle with an adult and can use wildlife identification slates to look for fish, birds and other local wildlife. Fish feeding may also be included when conditions allow.
A beach or sandbar stop includes morning tea, with homemade biscuits, tea and coffee for adults and juice for children.
The Family Kayak Tour departs at 9:30am and costs $55 per adult and $45 per child.
Nature Tour
The Nature Kayak Tour is a fully guided 3-hour morning tour exploring Round Hill Creek and its mangroves, sandbars, beaches and tidal waterways.
The route varies according to the tide, wind and conditions, allowing different parts of the creek to be explored throughout the year.
Along the way, paddlers can look for stingrays, fish, crabs, turtles, coastal birds and occasionally dolphins while learning about the local environment and wildlife.
The Nature Kayak Tour costs $70 per person, is suitable for adults and children aged 10 and over, and has a maximum group size of 12 paddlers.
Private Group Tours

1770 Liquid Adventures offers private kayak tours for groups of 6 to 24 people, with the experience tailored to suit your group, interests and available conditions.
Private tours can include elements of our regular Sunset, Nature or Family Tours, or we can create a customised experience around your group. Routes and activities are adjusted to suit the tide, weather, ages and abilities of participants.
Private group tours are ideal for celebrations, family gatherings, social groups, schools and team outings, with exclusive use of the tour for your group.
Kayak Hire
Visitors who prefer to explore independently can hire single, double and triple sit-on-top kayaks directly from the beach in the Town of 1770.
Kayak hire includes paddling equipment, life jackets and a dry bag, with hire periods available from one hour upwards.
Single kayak hire starts from $25 for the first hour, while double and triple kayaks start from $35 for the first hour.
Kayak hire is available on weekends and public holidays and seven days a week during Queensland school holidays. Weekday hire may also be available by arrangement.
All kayak hire is subject to weather, wind and tidal conditions.
Dog-Friendly Adventures
Dogs are welcome to join their owners on kayak hire adventures.

The sunset tour was amazing! Seeing a sunset on the water from a kajak was a special experience. It was like I could touch the sunset. Our guide was very friendly and funny and knew a lot of things about the area and environment. We were a small group and that was very nice. I highly recommend this company.
What a fantastic little business run by two very passionate and safety conscious people! I thoroughly enjoyed the Sunset tour and will come back to do the Nature tour later in the year. Great value for money and a Must-Do when in 1770!!
